"Tea with Friends"

I love a good tea with friends, though these days I find myself away from some of my dearest (you know who you are) and (like many people) video calls are the best we can do sometimes.  I love you guys!

Did you know most mass produced candles are made with paraffin wax because it is cheap, and holds scent really well.  The problem is when burned, paraffin wax can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and phthalates, which can cause headaches, shortness of breath, and coughing. Paraffin wax can also emit black soot and toxic fumes that contain benzene, toluene, naphthalene, tri-decane, tetra-decane, penta-decane, and hexadecane. These chemicals are similar in chemistry to diesel exhaust.  
 
So!  When you can, choose soy or beeswax when purchasing candles, especially if you burn them often. Plus, you get the added benifit of supporting small businesses!
